Allen & Heath presents SQ-7

Jun 21, 2018

Allen & Heath introduced the new flagship model of the SQ series - the SQ-7 digital mixing console with 33 physical faders.

Like the other SQ series mixers, the new SQ-7 is based on a powerful XCVI 96 kHz FPGA processor, but differs from its predecessors with a large number of physical controls available on the front panel and a large number of inputs: the SQ-7 has 33 faders, 32 input with preamplifiers, 16 programmable buttons and 8 assignable encoders.

The SQ-7 provides processing of 48 audio channels, is fully compatible with the expansion modules for Allen & Heath digital consoles, including the DX168 mobile module, which supports audio transmission in a format up to 96 kHz. Inputs and mixes in SQ-7 can be arbitrarily assigned to 192 rulers organized in 6 layers; 16 programmable buttons and 8 assignable encoders allow you to customize remote control individually for different shows and different users. The interface cards Dante, Waves and SLink provide additional options for system expansion and integration, and also allow digital channel splitting and recording.

Thanks to DEEP's built-in processing, SQ-7 users will be able to enjoy high-quality emulations of compressors and preamps that can be used directly on all input and mix channels, without increasing the signal transit time in the system.

The built-in SQ-Drive recorder allows you to make stereo and multi-channel recordings up to 96 kHz directly to USB devices. SQ consoles can also be connected via USB to PC / Mac computers and used as a 32x32 audio interface compatible with Core Audio or ASIO. Another advantage of the new remote is the presence of two built-in independent automatic microphone mixers, which can be used together as a single powerful 48-channel automatic microphone mixer.

Keith Johnson, Product Manager, Allen & Heath: "The SQ-7 offers everything that is best in the SQ series - power, speed, ergonomics - in a more impressive format, which makes it possible to further expand the options available to users. As soon as we released the first two models of the SQ series, we began to receive a lot of calls from users who liked the console concept and its functionality and who would like to use it in performances and projects where more physical inputs and controls are required. This new console is for them! "

With the SQ-7 remote, you can use the entire existing "ecosystem" of applications for controlling mixing and personal monitoring, expansion modules, network audio interfaces cards and personal ME mixers.
